Begin your day with a satisfying breakfast before embarking on a bird watching adventure in Mabira Forest Reserve. Depart from Kampala and enjoy a scenic drive along the Kampala-Jinja highway, which takes approximately 1 to 2 hours.
During the journey, make a stopover at Ssezibwa Falls in Mukono. Take in the picturesque surroundings, explore the cultural significance associated with the falls, and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Continue your drive and reach the Eco tourism center at Mabira, where you will meet knowledgeable bird guides.
Keep an eye out for notable avian creatures such as the African bellied paradise flycatchers, sooty flycatchers, grey-headed sunbirds, dwarf kingfishers, blue-breasted kingfishers, toro olive greenbul, black and white casqued hornbill, Jameson's wattle eyes, purple-throated cuckoos, and the magnificent Great blue turacos, among others.
After your immersive birding exploration, return to the center for a well-deserved lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to partake in an exhilarating zip-lining experience, adding an extra thrill to your day. As the day winds down, return to Kampala for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Start the day with breakfast and drive to Entebbe for the second day of your bird watching safari. Explore the Botanical Gardens, known for their 150+ bird species, including sunbirds, cuckoos, warblers, turacos, and superb. Enjoy the company of monkeys and the scenic view of Lake Victoria. Have a picnic lunch in the gardens and later visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, where you can observe lions, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, zebras, chimpanzees, and a variety of bird species. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Rise early and have breakfast before driving to Entebbe, a short distance from Kampala. Take a boat or canoe ride to Mabamba Wetland for a birding tour focused on finding elusive species such as shoebill storks, white-shouldered tits, papyrus gonoleks, African purple swamp hens, and more. After the tour, return to your hotel or proceed to Entebbe Airport for departure, bringing an end to your 3-day birding safari in Uganda.
